Best in class patient engagement at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board

Here at WiFi SPARK we would like to commend the team at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board for delivering best in class patient engagement and a rousing support of their National Team during the Euros 2016.

C&V UHB selected WiFi SPARK as their provider for the WiFi at all of the hospitals across the Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan.

The team at C&V UHB realised that most of their patients would want to watch the matches, but would struggle to do that in the way most Welsh fans would, by relaxing in their front rooms, or popping to the pub. The team at C&V UHB knows that it can be difficult for patients when they are in hospital and may have to miss out on big events. Therefore they launched a campaign during the June and July to drive a strong sense of nationalism and excitement about the Euros for their patients.

From support videos for the national team to a songathon, the whole staff of C&V UHB have rallied behind Wales during the Euros 2016, and most importantly, patients have been able to engage with the tournament from their beds, watching all of the games via the WiFi on their personal devices.

Matt O’Donovan, CEO for WiFI SPARK commented ‘Here at WiFi SPARK we are proud to help our customers to unlock value and deliver a service that exceeds expectations. We love working with organisations like Cardiff & Vale UHB and their dedicated Cardiff & Vale Health Charity to enable them to deliver the very best in patient care and engagement. They came to us when they realised how many people would want to watch the football from their beds, and we jumped at the chance to help.  We happily increased the capacity on the WiFi system to ensure that everyone who wants to watch the matches is able to.’

Wales is now in the semi-finals, playing Portugal tonight, and the whole staff and patients at Cardiff & Vale UHB are rallying behind their home team.
