The first event was a fancy dress day for Halloween. Staff had fun dressing up and donating money for the excellent cause. Together the team were able to raise over £65 today.
It takes time, compassion, patience, medical expertise and money to help patients and families make the most of every day, but every year Rowcroft helps over 2,200 people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon to do just that.
By providing comfort, support and specialist services in patients’ homes, in the community and at Inpatient Unit in Torquay, Rowcroft enables families to share precious and joyful moments when they are needed most – whether it’s a beautiful wedding, remarkable reunion, simple thank you or gentle cuddle.
At the premises in Torquay, Rowcroft's team of doctors, nurses, social workers and a range of other health and social care professionals provide specialist care in the Inpatient Unit.
They also care for out-patients and their loved ones, offering therapies, bereavement support and medical consultation in an environment that helps patients and families make the most of their precious time together.
From Dartmouth to Dawlish, Rowcroft cares for ¾ of patients in their own homes with a team of community nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and bereavement counselors delivering a holistic approach tailored to individual needs.
WiFi SPARK’s £65 may seem small for now, but this is just the beginning of a great fundraising adventure! Ongoing events such as staff bowling nights and the tuck shop ensure there is a steady stream of money coming into the fundraising pot.
WiFi SPARK plans to join in with the Rowcroft organised events the Colour Rush and the Sleepwalk next year, as well as holding bespoke raffles and thrilling events along the way.
The money raised from today will cover a home visit by a Community Nurse Specialist helping to manage symptoms and enabling a patient to feel more comfortable.
