Cliff Courtney, Business Development Manager for WiFi SPARK, talked patient engagement and WiFi in the Healthcare sector at the eHealth Ireland Ecosystem Event in Dublin on Wednesday this week.
The Conference, in Ballsbridge was chaired by Richard Corbridge, CIO of the HSE. It examined the drive for increased digitization of the Health Service in Ireland and the many projects currently in progress or being rolled out.
The event was bustling and the attendees were all bursting with enthusiasm.
Of particular interest to WiFi SPARK was the talk by guest speaker Niall Harbison, founder of the website Lovin Dublin, who spoke about the ‘new world’ of digital and encouraged delegates to engage with stakeholders in the way that they want. He encouraged the Healthcare industry to welcome the changes that are happening in digital and social and to move more quickly to keep up.
In addition to the excellent agenda of guest speakers, Cliff took the opportunity to share information with attendees about the way that WiFi SPARK can help hospital groups and community healthcare organisations to offer a truly engaging digital experience via the WiFi. The WiFi SPARK patient engagement platform offers not only WiFi, but also can integrate with existing services and software to offer additional facilities and entertainment options to patients. This can include way-finding, patient meal ordering, and appointment check in, radio, games, audio books and TV, all to their own devices.
Cliff commented: ‘It was wonderful to have the opportunity to share the WiFi SPARK experience at the eHealth Ireland Ecosystem and to understand the requirements in the Health Service in Ireland for WiFi. We are experts in WiFi in the Healthcare sector in the UK and I am excited about the opportunity to bring that expertise to Ireland.’
